Tattooing through Covid-19

Talisman Tattoo Company has researched the best ways that tattoo shop owners can oversee and facilitate minimizing the spread of Covid-19 by making significant changes in normal day to day operations. These are some of the steps we will take and additional safety features that we will have in place at our establishment to ensure the highest level of safety for all artists, assistants and customers.

Our new Safety measures

  • By appointment only—no walk-ins or unscheduled visits are allowed at this time
  • Our 24 hour cancellation policy is suspended so you will not lose your deposit if you’re not feeling well on your appointment day—but a no-call, no-show WILL still result in loss of deposit 
  • Masks and temperature checks are mandatory for everyone inside our studio, and a free surgical mask will be available for everyone at the front door
  • Hand sanitizer and wipe stations at the door to clean hands and personal items (cell phones, glasses, ect.)
  • Electronic paperwork and payments are preferred and encouraged 
  • Stations are 15+ft apart for exceptional distancing
  • All surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected before and after procedures with an FDA approved product, Opti-Cide3 with a short, 3 minute kill time
  • All floors and waiting area surfaces are hard, non-porous and easily cleaned and disinfected multiple times daily
  • Artists will be wearing full PPE, including scrubs to prevent sharing of germs with our family and yours
  • All products, including ink bottles and paper towels are kept in air tight containers away from the tattoo area and only dispensed as needed prior to procedure
  • Our HVAC MERV 14 filters will be replaced every 2 months, and we will be running our AirPura P600  in the tattoo area, with our EnviroKlenz UV portable air purifier running in our supply and break room.

Going virtual

Limiting face to face contact is now our “new normal” to keep our business safe and fully functioning! Once we have all cancelled appointments rescheduled, new appointments must now be made over the phone, but still require a non-refundable deposit with a credit/debit/or gift card of at least $50.  Before booking your appointment, a quick FaceTime consultation with one of our artists may be required. 

Pre-procedure paperwork will be completed via Docu sign on your own smart phone or tablet, and you can upload your state ID, so upon your arrival we will only need one quick signature in our log book! Aftercare instructions will also be emailed to each customer.

Quick answers to our most frequently asked questions

Our hourly rate at Talisman Tattoo is $125, with an $80 minimum procedure fee. Price varies drastically depending on what you want. Factors like style, size, placement, and amount of detail can all affect the overall cost. If budget is an issue we can discuss ways to cut back on detail without sacrificing on design.

Unfortunately no. It is New York State law that you must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo with an acceptable form of photo identification.
